earth hour 2011

Last year, my family were amongst the people who joined EARTH HOUR. This year, papahuli ba naman kami? At first, my sister Janice wanted to participate for half an hour only. Because for her, one hour without lights and electricity seems eternity. Hehe. But when our family gather in the dim light of candles, time flies so quickly that one hour seems "bitin." Candles + chikahan + malamig na simoy ng hangin = one hour of pure family bonding! aylabit! :)

earth hour is more than just turning your lights off for an hour.
it's a firm stand against global warming and climate change!
it's an act for loving mother earth.

we're proud to be part of this. :)

ang ina wala magawa, pti cap ni Riley sinuot. hehe!

the "artistahin" family! wehhh??!!!! :)

Yesterday, dadifriend and I were chatting on the internet. He really misses our son Riley. I feel sorry that he has to work abroad just for our son to have a brighter future. Anyway, we had an interesting conversation while he watches Riley rolls in his walker:

dadifriend: naaalala kita pag nanunuod ako ng mutya.
kmukha mo cya ng bata tayo.
me: di noh! ang cute kaya nun!
dadifriend: kaya nga e! sobrang cute mo kya ng bata tayo.

AWWWWWW! Lol. Wala natuwa lng ako. Tumaba naman puso ko dun. hehe. Napahanap tuloy ako ng picture ko ng bata pa ako. AND I found some "cute" picture of dadifriend too back when we were in Grade 2. Sabi nga nya "hindi pa uso kanin nun" kaya daw ang payat payat nya.

mut-cha-cha      &     mutya
(may hawig nga ba?)

ayaw magtino        &        santino
(hehe. pwede n nga rn!)

Ito, wala tlga kamukha. Nag-iisa ang mukhang yan sa mundo! ;)

unleashing the inner cook in me

Last month, we went to Gerry’s Grill to celebrate my son’s 5th month birthday. We really had a great time, except that towards the end, riley got irritated and impatient. When it’s time to blow his candle, he is crying all over the place! Lol. Yesterday, as he turned 6th month in the world, I wanted to make it special without the hassle of going out. So I decided to bring the resto feeling in the comfort of our home. I decided to cook for him the seafood way!

Allow me to present the dishes I prepared...

tuna spaghetti in penne pasta with basil leaves and parsley on top!
(kulang na lang isama ko lahat ng ingredients sa title. Haha!)

tempura-do

baked tahong with cheese that didn't melt quick
(hindi kasi quickmelt cheese nalagay ko)

crab rice ala gerry's grill (how i wish!)

tira-tiramisu (tira-mo-ko)

HAyyyy. Kapagod magprepare lahat. Na-wa-poise ako! hehe

Pero okey lang, kung para sa bunso ko, I'll willingly do it again.
Anu kaya masarap n iprepare next tym???

My Little Prince

"You're lovely, but you're empty," he went on. "One couldn't die for you. Of course an ordinary passerby would think my rose looked just like you. But my rose, all on her own, is more important than you altogether, since she's the one I've watered. Since she's the one I put under glass. Since she's the one I sheltered behind a screen. Since she's the one for whom I killed the caterpillars (except for two or three for butterflies). Since's she the one I listened to when she complained, or when she boasted, or even sometimes when she said nothing at all. Since she's my rose."
From the book: The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint ExupĂ©ry

One of my favorite books is The Little Prince. And that quote up there is what brings me to blog about my own little prince. A baby is born every 8 seconds. That makes approximately 490,000 babies born every day worldwide. And they come in various shapes and cuteness. But what makes my son special to me is because he’s the one that God design SPECIFICALLY for me!

He’s the one whose smile I would never get enough of.

The one whose kiss would never fail to brighten my day.

The one whose cry would always tear my heart.

The one whose hug would always give comfort to me

The one whose “kalokohan” would always make me laugh.

The one whose love and affection I would always crave for.

The one whose place could never be replaced by anyone.

The one whose life I want to witness and be a part of…

RILEY is my rose!

He’s not just any other kid, he belongs to me. We will always have that special bonding and that is enough to make him one of a kind! No one would have that exact same feeling I have for him. Just like other parents whose love for their child is incomparable. Every kid is special and I believe it is because of that love.
